A Gentle, Creative Approach to Emotional Support

Healing Art Journey offers therapeutic art support for expat women navigating overwhelm, identity shifts, grief, anxiety, uncertainty, and the emotional complexities of living between worlds.

My approach is trauma-informed, reflective, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that creativity can help us reconnect with ourselves in ways words sometimes cannot.

Janaline, therapeutic art facilitator supporting expat women through creative emotional support is sitting at a table with her hands resting on it. In front of her, there are watercolor paints arranged in a palette and an open jar of water.
A woman with brown hair and bangs, wearing a dark long-sleeved shirt and a silver necklace, is painting on a blank white paper with watercolors. She is holding a water brush, and there is a greenish curly line painted on the paper. An open watercolor set with various colors and a glass jar of water are on the table. The background shows a white wall with a framed artistic portrait of a woman and some decorative string lights with small warm-colored bulbs.

Why Art?

Sometimes emotions live deeper than language.

You may understand something logically, yet still feel overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, emotionally stuck, or unable to fully express what you’re carrying.

Therapeutic art creates another way of listening to yourself.

Through colour, image, movement, texture, reflection, and creative process, emotions can begin to surface gently — without pressure to explain everything perfectly.

The focus is not on artistic skill or creating “good art.” It is about expression, self-understanding, nervous system support, and reconnecting with yourself honestly and compassionately.

  • Gentle and non-judgmental

  • Collaborative rather than prescriptive

  • Reflective rather than performative

  • Emotionally supportive without pressure

  • Creative, intuitive, and grounded

  • Adapted to your unique experiences and needs

What Support With Me Feels Like

I do not believe healing is about “fixing yourself.”

I believe it is about creating enough safety, self-awareness, and support to reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been silenced, exhausted, disconnected, or lost beneath survival and constant adaptation.
